How do I bulk import mail accounts into Mailshake?
With Mailshake's Bulk Email Accounts Upload, you can import multiple sending email addresses using a CSV file to connect with SMTP. You can also enable warm-up automatically for these email addresses - see the CSV template below in step 1 for more details.
Important: Make sure you have SMTP enabled
✅ For GoDaddy Microsoft 356 accounts and regular Microsoft accounts, you'll need to enable SMTP access in order to connect with Warm Up Your Email.
We also recommend enabling Two Factor Authentication and creating an App Password.
✅ For Google accounts, you'll need to enable Two Factor Authentication and create an App Password.
Create your CSV file
Make a copy of our CSV template so you can edit it and fill out all of your mail account details.
Fill out the columns, one sending email address per row
If you have just one password or app password for your account, use it for both the smtp_password and imap_password fields.
- Make sure you're putting in an app password
Save or Export it as CSV
- Upload it to Mailshake
In the left side menu, click Mail Accounts, then click Add Account.
Click Bulk Import
Drag your file to the Upload box or click Choose File.
Click Import
If everything is correct, you'll see an Import in Progress pop-up. 🎉
Imports can take as little as 15 minutes up to 2 hours, depending on the number of mail accounts you're importing. We'll email you once the import is complete with a status for each imported account.
What do error messages mean?
Error: The CSV file format is incorrect. Some required fields or headers are missing. Please review the correct format in the sample CSV file and try again.
This means the CSV format is incorrect. Likely the columns are missing, in the wrong order, or there are no headers. Use a copy of our CSV template to make sure you have the right format. 😊
Error: The uploaded CSV file exceeds the 5 MB limit. Please upload a smaller file
Your file needs to be under 5 MB. If it exceeds that, it usually means your file has many extra columns or data that don't need to be included.
Error: An unexpected issue occurred. Please try again later or contact support if the problem persists.
Try refreshing the page or clearing your browser cache. If you continue to encounter this error, contact our team by clicking the Help button in your account.
What do imported account statuses mean?
Once the import is complete, you'll receive an email listing all of the mail accounts you just connected and a status.
- Added, connection error - your mail account info might be incorrect, you did not use an app password, or SMTP/IMAP is not enabled.
- Duplicate, updated - if you had an email address on your file that was already connected, we'll update the information based on the contents of your file.
- Active - your mail account was successfully added 🎉
